Does your cat drink from the tap, knock over its bowl, or rarely drink? This is common: many cats are attracted to moving water and ignore stagnant water.
How does a fountain work?
A small pump circulates the water continuously through a filter. The water stays in motion, which attracts many cats. Our 1.5L transparent fountain also allows you to see at a glance when to refill it.
Where should you place it?
- Away from the food bowl: many cats prefer to drink somewhere other than where they eat.
- Away from the litter box.
- In a quiet spot, near an outlet.
Maintenance
- Change the water every 2 to 3 days.
- Clean the tank and pump every week.
- Replace the filter regularly.
- Always keep enough water in it: a pump running dry will be damaged and become noisy.
What if my cat doesn't use it?
Give it a few days. You can keep its usual bowl nearby at first, then gradually move it further away.
If your cat suddenly drinks much more or much less than usual, speak to your veterinarian: it is a change that should be monitored.
